w 300 s 8 ohm

Hello folks... I would like to make some good sounding speakers with W 300 S woofers... Single or double per box... Any suggestion for the midranges and the tweeters...? W 170 S for midwoofer, DSM 50 FFL for the midrange, DSM 25 FFL for the tweeters...??? What crossower to make for these speakers...?

Maybe this Simulation i made some years ago helps you as a working base. But you have to consider that this is a big thing!
You have to make countless measurements and redesigns of the crossover...

For a speaker with the suggested DSM domes I'd take the Atlas Compackt MK 5 as a basis and go from there.

Quick test with Boxsim: Switching TIW300 with W300S-8 and AL170 with W170S-8, and (in the mid-bass crossover branch) increasing the 100µF serial cap to 122µF and the 1,5mH serial coil to 1,8mH with a lower R (let's say 0,7 Ohms) will result in more or less the same on-axis response.

However, compared to the original Atlas there'd be a minor inconsistency in directivity around 1 kHz, plus the W300S dataset comes from the older Boxsim 1.2 database (no angular measurements), plus this is still a simulation that should be confirmed / optimized with a real-world measurement.

I need to think about what is better for me... 1 piece w 300 s and a 150 liter box, or 2 pieces w 250 s and a 200 liter box... Which do you think is better...? Of course I have to add about 20 liters, or use a cover cap because of the w 170 s... Unfortunately i cant experiment with the crossover...Can the woofer be down and the other speakers above it...?

One W300 ist easier to handle with impedance and Crossover. 2x250 are maybe a tad stronger and allow a slimer speaker
Of course you can put the Midrange on top and reduce the height. I like the look of the Bass on the Top and it is physically better for the Room response.

A bass driver below the midrange also looks good, but I would always mount the W170 on top.

So the atlas box is 150 liters... 130 +20... Is 130 liters enough for the w 300 s...? Or its should be 150 liters + 20 liters...?

Its enough. Even more than enough. Do you have the W 300 S already? 4 or 8 Ohms?

If you take the Atlas Compact 5, You have a very fine speaker and no Problems with Crossover and so on.

Well i dont have them yet... I have a nice offer for Atlas mk2... All the parts are new or like new... Just cant find information about the box... Its like have 2 woofers on the top. 1 main, and 1 for the controll... Or something like that...

Yes with TIW 400... 2x TIW 400 8 Ohm , 2x TIW 250 2x DSM 50 FFL , 2x DSM 25 FFL , 2x WS 21 BF and 2X2 crossower units, 2 x WS22AW and 1 x WS 21 BF, bass reflex tubes, Bi wiring terminals... All like new...

Take that if you have space! It's brutal.
But you need good Roomacoustics because it rings energy in every direction. But the small variants like with the Atlas Compact it would be the same. Reenforces the Speaker housing a bit more than suggested in the plan.
The WS21 must be replaced by the GF200. Much better with that.
Sound wise the Atlas Compact is a tiny little Speaker in compersion.

The TIW 250 should be inside. Look to the link and the "Bauanleitung". I have only the normal Atlas DSM, but for me it's not brutal, for me it's genial.
