I think it's best to build another pair of speakers to compensate.
I really think that damping the existing line is the right way. Maxbe you actually have a whole in the frequency response of the boxes.Boxsim ... wenn Lautsprechersimulation gelingen soll.

I just got another idea for the low kick of the box. Normally the quality of the crossover parts is not very relevant for the total sound of the box. You wrote that you have a kind of standard crossover. If the iductivity in the bass path is of very low quality, e. g. 0.4mm wire diameter, you might have 2 Ohms or more in line with the bass speaker. In that case a significant loss of power in the high bass and low mid range is taking place and might be one reason for a poor kick.Boxsim ... wenn Lautsprechersimulation gelingen soll.

Ah I see..
Well let this be a lesson for me, never to use a 'standard' filter anymore!!!
The annoying 'plof' sound is really beginning to irritate me now:P
Sadly it's too late to change it now... So I will go for the (crapy) solution, and that is to build another pair of speakers.
And for the time being, my WSP 26s (active) woofer produces enough kickbase
For the next project, I will do more research.
Thank you all for your answers!
