What kind of reviever/amp do I requere for this setup?
What power do I need to drive these speakers?
And what is the best compatible for this ,Pioneer/yamaha/parasound/Harman kardon enz..
The TL Sub needs a powerfull aktiv-unit with 200 watt +, the vox speakers need a lot of power two. Just look at the bigger systems from Denon or Harman Kardon, or ask MrWoofa for a real crazy solution
Ohne Humor ist das Leben weniger Wert als die Kugel die es einem nimmt.
The TL-Sub is with 200W on his Limit, because of the low frequencies and the big excursion of the cones. More Power isn't the problem, when you already have an Amplifier.
the VOX should have 200W+, note that Mid-Class Receivers doesn't hold the Power in Multi-Channel-Mode because the Power-Transformer is too small. With the Fontanas as Surrounds / Backsurrounds it is not THE problem, but if you will upgrade to 5.1 / 7.1 complete-VOX Set there will be too less power.
I Have a Denon AVR 3802, and via Pre-Outs 4 Yamaha AX-900 Stereo Amplifiers connected with each 2x220W RMS /4Ohm. I Don't think thats crazy , but you should think of even one Stereo-Amp just for the Mains if you buy a Denon 3805 or another Receiver in that class. Caution at Yamaha, they have a very weak power transdormer, in Multichannel-Mode they only have 1/2 of the Power as in Stereo-Mode.
Indeed the Receivers up to RXV 1400 or 2400 are not prepared to manage a set of 5 or 7 VOX 253 (you should take the new TIW 250 XS if you haven`t already bought the former TIW 250), but the new Denon 3805 won´t too.
Concerning the Rears and Surrounds you should consider, that they are 360 degree Speakers, who don´t meet the standards of DD 5. or 7.1 or DTS discrete! In the rear and surround area you will have no or a reduced location.
If you will use only one AVR for the complete set (except the TL) it has to be one of the biggest Denon, Pioneer, Yamaha ...
If you can or will use seperate amplifiers for a part of the set, than I would prefer a Denon 3805 (which becomes quite hot!) or Yamaha RXV 2400 to manage the surround and rears and for the Front and Center VOXes separate strong amplifiers, which meet the power MrWoofa mentioned.
I have a set of 4 Vox 25X and a Couplet Center. My Yamaha RXV 800 only manages the Center and I also have 2 seperate stereoamplifiers because all AVR in the pricerange of 1000 - 1500 euro are not prepared to give the max power per channel at the same time on all channels.
Okay , tnx all for your answers.
like i see it then i have to have 3 amps extra for the front L&R and Center. The 4 fontana´s can be on the reciever site.
Has anybody exper. with the 630 harman kardon?
MrWoofa is not crazy, because the VOX 252 needs really power on low impedance. The Yamaha AX 900 is the perfect choice on this demand.
I use five AX 900 via preout from my AV-Receiver for five VOX 252 for perfect channel separation. I use four of the five remaining channels (each on a single AX 900) for my Dual Bass Array. It sounds great with no pressure limit.
