    Filter Skyline

    Hello everyone,

Recently I bought a 2nd hand couple of Visaton Skyline. I wanted to upgrade the filter capacitors for the high section to MKP versions and to my surprise the filter in the low section was different then the filtering scheme in the HiFi-Bauvorslage shows.

What was done here? The Skyline's had two 4 ohm drivers put in series instead of two 8 ohm drivers paralell. (WS13NG / MRS13NG)
Therefore, on the filter they placed for the low section a coil of 10 mH (1st order) and a resistor and capacitor put paralell for the Impedancy correction.
The filter was for the mid en highsection the same as it appears in the assembly instructions as shown in Figure 1. This seems a filter that came from the factory, because the 10mH coil was no self-soldered, and this pair of Skyline's therefore appears to be one of the first Skyline's because filtering scheme as found in this couple of Skyline’s was nowhere to find on the internet.

Now I changed the filter as it shows in the filtering scheme (image 1) and replace the 4 ohm drivers for 8 ohm drivers. (WS13NG / MRS13NG) and made the Skyline as it shows in de HiFi-Bauvorslage.

But now this: I have found in two different filtering schemes. The first filter as u can see in image 1. (like it is now)
The second filter who is released later you see in image 2.
Now I see that the last filter is made in conjunction with the newer WS13BF drivers.

Now the key question: what shall I do? Do i leave the filter as it is with the WS13NG / MRS13NG drivers, or shall i change the filter similar to image 2 but with the WS13NG / MRS13NG drivers?
Is it a improvement in sound to change this?

Because the parameters of WS13BF are some different from the WS13NG / MRS13NG I can imagine that maybe I cannot just change the filter like that. The bassreflex port is also different.
And that can chance the sound of the Skyline negative.

Has anyone experience with this, what do you recommend me?

Thanks for the answers in advance.

Thanks for the answer, and in fact I can read and speak the German language, so an answer in German no problem, but to write it is something else ?

I have indeed WS13NG / MRS13NG, but I forget to tell in my post that I have treated all the drivers with the LTS 50 beschichtungsmittel (2 times)

Is it true that if you treat the WS13NG / MRS13NG with LTS 50 you actually have a WS13BF?
Or is there still a difference between the 2 drivers?
Because then it would be better to use the filter of Figure 2, or is that too simplistic?
