Vox 200/250 Light w130s w250s g20sc

Sorry for my englisch, I'm Dutch ...


I wanted to build the Vox 250 Light, but without the D'appo arriangement:

I'm keeping the design of the Vox250Light, but with the W250S and only with one of the mid's(w130s)

The W130S is going to be Bass/Mid(TT/MT) and the G20SC is going to be The High(HT).

And is the w130s better here then the W100S?

Can I build a 2-way system on these and then build the crossover seperately for the w250S, or would i have to much of the bass in the speaker?

With crossover would be effective?

A lot of questions... but I've been playing around with BoxSim, and I can't really find a good setup, neighter on this discussion forum... please help

sorry, without the D'appolito the "vox" is no longer a "vox"

it is any other box and may sound good as well,
but needs some hard work on the crossover network

but it is no longer a vox

and an other high-range is quite easy to build in
(with only few changes)

No, more like a Alto I g(with the w170s8 + g20sc) with an w250s to handle the deep bass.

I wanted to have a small speaker with the bass on the side, and i'm not fond of the Starlet ...

Can you post the *.bpa file of BoxSim please?

What about the GF200? It's a bit more expensive (pair 166,- includ shipping to Netherlands) but it needs less volume.

The mezzoforte looks great, I'll try the crossover of the speaker, Need the G20SC though, not the SC10N ...

Hallo Henri,
I habe auch versucht eine "Halbe Vox" zu bauen. Das ist an sich gut gelungen, aber letztendlich gefallt der TT an der Seite mir nicht ganz gut, weil ich die Basse nicht ganz gut im griff bekomme habe.
Ich habe deswegen vor so bald ich wieder Zeit habe, mal etwas neues zu bauen, mit die TT nach vorne.

Hello Henry!
my suggestions for the crossover are:
-to take the 4-ohm version of the w170s , it gives you the opportunity to fill the "gap" in the midrange because it has 3db more SPL @ 2,8V
-to take a lower crossover frequency (ca. 150Hz) between bass and midrange to avoid phase broblems with the sidebass.

BMM is shipping either by UPS or standard mail. I did once send two G20sc units to Germany by standard mail and I remember that it was not that expensive. In any case it is weight related.

Ich spreche auch ein bisschen Deutch, but my Englisch is a bit better, I'll go and try the 150@TT and the W170S4Ohms....

i have build the vox light with an w250s and i find it sounds god and the deep bass is enough for an normally room ,sometimes i think it is too much
